Caregiver Stress Balance?

You just sat down to listen to an orchestra!

You have arrived a little early and you get to be there for their  sound check! – but before the sound check each person takes time to tunes up their instrument!

You hear each person, tune, each individual instrument to the same key…

So when the concert begins everyone can begin playing in harmony.

If we listen to the string instruments, each string, has tension, too much and it sounds sharp & squeaky, too loose and it sounds flat & wonky and it is not in fine balance with the other strings on the instrument or the other instruments in the orchestra.

We then listen to the brass & reed instruments, each one is based on the tension of the mouth in the mouthpiece, with fine tuning, with the instruments.

We then listen to the percussion fine tuning also, except for the instruments which can’t be changed like the cymbals & tri-angles, they are chosen individually for their key.

The string instruments reminds me of Caregiver Stress.

There is good stress – we need to understand we get things done, we stay focused we are in more balance, in more control.

If you have too much stress though, you can become squeaky; you can loose concentration, feel off balance and out of control.

You just need to make some fine adjustments to bring it into balance.

Or if you don’t have enough stress, you can become flat & wonky, you can feel like you just want to sleep all day, not worry about achieving anything, not caring about getting anything done.

You just need to make some fine adjustments to bring it into balance also.

So how do Caregivers stay tuned to just the right key?

It’s like learning an instrument really –

Have you practiced today?

Have you checked your tension level today?
